The Earth Week Door County Steering Committee announces the inaugural Every Day Is Earth Day Festival. Scheduled for April 26-28, this is a three-day celebration of the people, organizations and businesses that respect, preserve and protect our Green earth-care culture in Door County and beyond with a weekend of resource exchange, an environmentally focused open house, speakers, demonstrations, films and activities for kids and adults.
The 2019 festival theme is:
“Making your Life Earth Friendly”
Friday, April 26
6 PM:
Green Door Legacy Round Table – Housing, Living and Thriving GREEB in Door County – think globally, act locally. The Round Table, moderated by Myles Dannhausen Jr. of the Pulse will focus on green building and how to implement green practices in your homestead. Our experts include: Virge Temme, Amber Beard and Mariah Goode.
8 PM:
Festival Reception – Stay after the Round Table for snacks, drinks, music and karaoke in the Great Hall. The reception is graciously sponsored by: Kick Ash, Door Artisan Cheese, Shipwrecked Brewing, Hatch Distilling
Saturday, April 27th
10 AM- 4 PM:
Open House in the Great Hall with exhibitors from: Book Nook Gardens, Celebrate Water, The Clearing, Climate Change Coalition, Cool Choices, David Kellems, Door County Land Trust, Door County Master Gardeners, Door County North, Door County Thrive, Greater Escarpment Organization of Door County (GEO–DC), Greens N Grains, Green Tier Legacy, Lake Michigan Wind & Sun, Menominee Rebuilders, NatureWise, Newport Wilderness Society, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Stella Maris Parish, Sustain Door, and Wild Ones.

The day will be full of Talks in the Living Room, Workshops in the Business Center, Films in the History Room and Hands On Activities in the Makers Space, Suitable for Kids 🙂

6 PM: 5XP – An Artistic Reflection on the Earth
Art will unfold in the late afternoon, come for the sunset and stay for a medley of Green messages of appreciation and inspiration from the artistic worlds from: Prose, Poetry, Photography, Performance Art and Praise to produce an artistic, musical and meditative reflection on the Earth, our common home.

The Steering Committee includes representatives from various organizations: Climate Change Coalition Door County, Sustain Door, Door County Thrive, Clean Water Action Council, Door County Environmental Council, Forest Recovery Project, and the Stella Maris On Care for Our Common Home Committee. The Village of Egg Harbor Green Tier Committee is excited to present the festival at the Kress Pavilion.
